Black Sabbath Confirms Reunion, New Album And Headlining Performance At Download Festival

In a recent press conference, British heavy metal fathers Black Sabbath confirmed that they have reunited and that they will be releasing a new studio album, which will be produced by Rick Rubin. This will be their first album with the original four members in thirty three years.
In addition to this, the group confirmed that they will be headining next years edition of the Download Festival at Donington Park in their native England. After the headlining set, they will embark on a worldwide tour. You can view a video which confirmed thsse details below.

Carnal Forge Goes On Hiatus

Swedish thrash/melodic death metal veterans Carnal Forge have announced that they have decided to place themselves on an indefinite hiatus as a result of members focusing on other projects. A message from bass player Lars Lindén reads as follows:

"Since all the members have chosen to drop off Carnal Forge due to different reasons to work on new projects, CF will take a pause and the band will be put on ice for an unspecified time.
"I don't know if there will ever be another CF album or if we'll play live again. I sure do hope so and will work for it, but only the future will tell.
"Thanks for all of the support through good times and bad times since 1997. See you out there some day somewhere somehow or see you all in hell!
"All the best from all of us!!! Peace!"

As was previously announced, Evile will be joining Portrait and Dr. Living Dead on the European "Five Serpents" tour. Metal Blade Records has now issued the following brief announcement about changes to the tour routing:

Edguy has checked in with the following announcement about performing at the Masters of Rock festival in the Czech Republic:
"Edguy have just been confirmed to return to the Czech Republic at the prestigious Masters Of Rock festival in Vizovice.
"It will be the fourth time that Edguy is going to hit the main stage for a prime time show at the biggest Metal festival in the Czech Republic. The festival is going to take place in Vizovice from July 14th to July 17th 2012!"

Woods Of Ypres Frontman David Gold Killed in Car Accident

Earache Records has reported that David Gold, frontman of Canadian doom metal band WOODS OF YPRES, was killed in a car accident last night. He was 31 years old.
Woods of Ypres was formed in 2002 by David Gold, Aaron Palmer and Brian McManus. The band signed a deal with Earache records in 2010 and their forthcoming new album, "Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light," which was recorded with producer Siegfried Meier at Beach Road Studios in Ontario, Canada, and was mixed by U.K. producer John Fryer (NINE INCH NAILS, PARADISE LOST), is due out on February 13th, 2012. The band has been previewing new material from this album.
